ROOM 237

Here's a new cover I designed for Death Waltz Recording Co, for ROOM 237. Available in both a condensed LP (with CD) and standalone CD with pop-up digipak. I wrote some liner notes as well and was very psyched to be involved with this release, a synthy, Italo-influenced score by Jonathan Snipes and William Hudson.

CINEMA SOUND 2012

Cinema Sound is back with a vengeance! Use the Soundcloud widget below to stream or download Cinema Sound 2012, an hour-long continuous mix of some of the best instrumental film music of the year. To listen THE COOL WAY, don't look at the tracklisting above; Just enjoy the mix as one piece and see what you recognize. But the tracklist above will help you identify anything that you like, and I encourage listeners to please support the commercial releases of these soundtracks (one of which I'll be designing new cover art for as my first project of 2013).

For this mix I wanted things to segue nicely, and so certain memorable cues may be absent in the interest of the greater flow. A "director's cut" of this mix is likely to follow, which may include other tracks I couldn't include here. Enjoy... and for more past and future score mixes, visit and follow Cinema Sound.

PRINCE OF DARKNESS

If you know how big a soundtrack geek I am, you'll then know how excited I was to be asked by Death Waltz Recording Company-- a new cult soundtrack label-- to design the cover artwork for John Carpenter's PRINCE OF DARKNESS score. Death Waltz are releasing all kinds of great scores in deluxe, limited vinyl editions that also include posters and exclusive prints (their opening lineup included ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, ZOMBIE II and LET THE RIGHT ONE IN). This one is a fantastic, dark ambient 80's synth classic composed by Carpenter himself... and I'll say more about it in the liner notes I've also written for the release. A 12x12 art print will be available as well with the green landscape above; the actual sleeve art can be seen below. Pre-order the LP here and check out the subscriber option if you don't want to miss the next batch of releases.

CINEMA SOUND 2011

In my spare time I enjoy keeping up with and listening to new and old film scores, and I've been posting some favorites and some mixes over at Cinema Sound, culminating in a two-part mix of 2011 film music. Part One is mostly ambient/electronic, to be enjoyed at night on a drive or while working or relaxing. Part Two is mostly orchestral in nature. Both are continuous mixes lasting about an hour each. If you're a Tumblr user, follow Cinema Sound for more updates and a monthly mix/podcast.
